7-7-7 Exercise to Take Inventory of Your Life (3-minutes)

Hello, Spiritual Warrior!

I want to offer you a simple and yet powerful exercise today – one that has the potential to profoundly reshape your life.

I invite you to sit down with a pen and paper and explore the following – it’s what I call the 7-7-7 Practice:

Write down the seven people who take up the most space in your mind.

They might be people you see every day, or perhaps it’s a person or people you haven’t spoken to in years.

Might consist of people you love, and also people who challenge you. It might even be some of the people who have hurt you the most.

Be mindful and take your time compiling your list – doing so with no judgment about yourself or your relationship with them. Just awareness.

Next…

Write down the seven places where you spend the most time.

Be honest with yourself. It could be your home, your office, your car… or even something more subtle like “Zoom calls” or “on the couch with my phone.”

Where does your life actually unfold?

And finally…

Write down the seven activities or behaviors that fill most of your time.

Scrolling… working… reading… meditating… worrying… connecting… avoiding…

Not what you wish you were doing, not what your vision of your perfect self is doing, but what you’re actually doing.

Got your lists?

Now pause and take it in.

These 21 things – these seven people, seven places, and seven activities – this is your life.

Of course, there’s nuance; there’s more to it than just this.

But this is the energetic core: the rhythm, the pattern.

If you love your life, then lean deeper into these.

But if there’s something that feels out of alignment, this is your doorway.

A time to gently rebalance.

Maybe you spend a little less time with one person, and a little more time with someone who uplifts you.

Maybe you shift one habit, and invite in a new, nourishing behavior.

Small, conscious changes create profound transformation.

This practice isn’t about judgment; it’s about awareness.

Awareness leads to choice. And choice leads to freedom.

This practice can support healthier boundaries, more conscious decisions, and a more expansive version of you.

So your invitation for today is to take a moment to reflect, write, and witness.

And then gently ask yourself:

Is this the life I want to keep creating?

If the answer is no, then ask what small shift is calling you forward?

I’m walking this path with you – this is a profound exercise that I choose to do yearly, to take inventory in my life and see where my awareness and attention are spending the most time, and where I can make a shift.

How was this exercise for you? I’d love to hear from you – feel free to respond to this email and let me know!

With love and presence,
