In this Life Tools, we are discussing Change – that continually flowing, never-ending element that is a constant in our lives – whether we like it or not! Change is part of life, and it’s a part of life that many of us struggle with. It’s often not fun and can be scary. However, if we can learn to shift our relationship with change, it is much easier to accept its presence in our lives. Resilience doesn’t mean you are bulletproof, it means that when you get knocked down, you can pull yourself back up. When we experience change, we get to choose how we receive it! Here are the three ways that we can experience change: ✔️A challenge, or a threat✔️Finite, or infinite✔️Random, or a life lesson Science has proven that if we can see things as challenges versus threats, our nervous system doesn’t automatically go into that fight/flight response. Now while that doesn’t mean that change comes easy, it does mean that we get to have power over its impact on us physically, mentally and emotionally. The next time you are bumping up against change, remind yourself of the following acronym: CFL = Challenge, Finite, Learn. This is just a challenge, it is not forever, and you will learn from it.
