Awakening Compassion
Hey there, Spiritual Warrior!
Welcome to The Source. Whether you are a longtime member of the Sweetspot Community or have recently joined, I am happy to have you here!
I’m going to be starting to share more often with you (I know, I know – nobody wants more emails!) – but they will be smaller, bite-size pieces that will give you something to ponder or meditate on each week. Instead of sharing several things in one long email, you’ll get less content and it will be spread out over the month. My intent is to give you a constant flow of inspiration and meditation that helps us move through the world with greater grace and greater ease.
So here’s our first dose of inspiration this month – a meditation on compassion!
The goddess Tara is known to protect us from fear and danger. And the green Tara is specifically the Goddess of Compassion. The green stands for the heart chakra, and our awakening compassion. Green is also the color of the wind, and of nature. By chanting the Tara mantra silently or aloud, we awaken compassion within ourselves and align our heart with the heart of the universe.
This mantra is Om Tare Tuttare Ture Soha, and here is a breakdown of it’s meaning:
Om – represents Tara’s sacred, enlightened body and the oneness that exists
Tare – liberating from all suffering
Tuttare – liberating from the 8 fears (described below)
Ture – liberating us from the separation
Soha – may the mantra take root in me. “Make it so!”
The eight great spiritual fears are: Ignorance, pride, anger, jealousy, wrong thinking, greed, desire and attachment, and doubt.
By repeating the Tara Mantra, we open our hearts and allow the Green Tara to take root within.
Thank you for meditating with me. As always, I look forward to meeting you in the gap!
