Hello, Spiritual Warrior – let’s dive into a lesson from the Bhagavad Gita today!
Chapter 2, Verse 48 of the ancient text states Yogastha Kuru Karmani.
Yogastha = establish yourself in yoga / union / oneness / present moment
Kuru = then perform
Karmani = action (karma)
These are the words that Lord Krishna shares with Arjuna, when he’s facing one of the biggest dilemmas he’s ever experienced in his life.
Arjuna is at a crossroads – not sure what to do next – and Lord Krishna tells him to yogastha kuru karmani.
Establish yourself in the present moment, and then perform action.
Maybe you are here right now – maybe you are at a crossroads just like Arjuna was.
You may find yourself wanting to leave a job, or maybe a relationship.
The call from the other side of what you are facing may be the loudest voice in the room.
Or maybe this crossroads is teaching you that your best path forward is to keep the commitments that you have made.
Making the decision to stay in whatever situation you are in – in which you wondered about the alternative – is always a valid choice.
However, if you do keep yourself there, then you must commit to it wholeheartedly. Everyone in your life deserves to have you show up as your best.
Remember that you are never stuck!
You can always make a new decision or forge a new path.
Just make sure that you are doing so with compassion and mindfulness for everyone that your decision will impact.
This is how we practice yogastha kuru karmani.
