Greater Peace of Mind

Hello spiritual warriors, and welcome to another edition of the Source!!

We do the best we can with what we know and when we know better, we do better. –Maya Angelou

This week, we connect to our inner voice & awaken into Peace. Our inner voice cannot be found in the advice or opinions of friends and family – that comes from our true self. Awakening to that self-wisdom is what guides us through life’s twists and turns and that’s really what we’re all here to do.

The highest aim of any spiritual path is surrender,  not defeat or weakness. Surrender is simply trusting that your God, or the Universe, or a divine creator can accomplish anything, even when you can’t foresee the outcome of a situation.

Everything is always unfolding perfectly at the level of spirit, and the universe will flow exactly as it plans – you don’t have to struggle or force situations to go your way. It is only your mind containing your ego that believes you are this persona trying to navigate thru the treacherous waters of life. The reality is that you are not a human being having occasional spiritual experiences; you are a spiritual being having these occasional human experiences. By surrendering to the divine nature of the universe, you end the struggle, you become liberated from fear and doubt and you transcend the limits your ego has created.

Each time we show up with grace, or we meditate, or we practice present moment awareness, we get one baby-step closer to spirit slowly peeling away our automatic reactions so we awaken the peace that already resides inside of you.

It all starts with our thoughts – as the Buddha said. “All that we are arises with our thoughts – with our thoughts we create the world.”
Meditation is the key – it doesn’t stop thoughts as much as make us aware of them as they come into stillness and silence. As you read, your thoughts are focused, but if we stop here for a moment and just listen to our thoughts … just listen … then they begin to pour in.

We can guide them, and that happens by getting clear on our intentions.

Remember the Brihadaranyaka Upanishad Book 4; Chapter 4: You are your deepest driving desires; as are your desires so is your will; as is your will so is your deed; as is your deed, so is your destiny.

Each day, have the intention to let go a little bit more. As well as the false intentions we have about others, such as – I hope this doesn’t work out for them – I want someone else to fail, I want to get even, I want to take something that’s not my own. There’s actually a term for this in German called schadenfreude, which means joy in the suffering of others.

What is the driving vibration of schadenfreude? Anger, fear, greed, rage, hopelessness and weakness. When you find yourself in schadenfreude ask yourself, “Why do I feel this way?” “What inner feeling am I hoping to solve?” And breathe into it and release it, reminding yourself it’s a constricted feeling and it doesn’t serve you.

Then choose the most magnificent intentions! Why not big fat grand ones that elevate you? Not ones that have anything to do with someone else. Intentions that raise your vibration. Allowing you to love more, flow more, forgive more, help more, nourish more. Not something like, “I wish I wasn’t in this much pain” – but, instead,  “I WANT TO FEEL GREAT!” See the miracles around you, and that will make it easier for greater miracles to grow.

When we feel less-than we become greedy for something to fill our emptiness. Money, power, alcohol, drugs, winning, being liked, sex, and pleasure are supposed to fill up the emptiness, but they never do. An easier and more authentic way for you to transcend the illusion of emptiness is to recognize the divine that rests within.

In this process, you will start to feel the divine in yourself and SEE the divine in others. Your vibration will elevate; your sadness will dissipate; and you will receive the unfolding of the desires & intentions you planted in the stillness & silence of your heart.
