Hello, Spiritual Warrior! Thank you for joining me this week!

This week we are exploring happiness; and believe it or not (in most cases), happiness is a choice!

All too often we block happiness with our own fears. Fears freeze us… they frighten us… they hold us back from moving forward. They hold us in this fantasy world where we believe that what we’ve made up will indeed come to pass. Our fears are as real to us as anything that’s actually happened.

But fear is the darkest piece of our imagination… It is the invention of the part of us that does not trust and does not accept. And so we repeat our fears like affirmations over and over in our mind until they harden like concrete and stay stuck in our mind as truth.

And even though our fears may never come to pass, we hold onto them with deep faith, so that if they do happen, we prove ourselves right and if they don’t come true, we have become so fixed on them that we are blind to beauty when it does unfold.

But we don’t have to live this way! Our natural state is one of happiness!!

As the Buddha said: “All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we create our world.”

So, How do We Choose Happiness?

When we surrender to fear it is because we don’t trust. We don’t trust in the divine…we don’t trust our choices…and we don’t trust ourselves to make right decisions. There is a struggle within each of us where the worst possible scenario battles the best possible scenario for attention in a given moment.

But we must remind ourselves that we have a choice in each moment…that we can choose the best outcome or the most painful outcome.

And whatever we end up choosing, will become the seed for the next moment, hour, or rest of our day – and ultimately the rest of our life!!! Now, of course, we’re human. We make mistakes and take missteps – it’s a part of life. It’s how we learn.

Remember: we can control our actions, but we cannot control the result of those actions.

So when we find ourselves questioning our judgment. When we hear the voice in our head telling us we are less than or not worthy, we need to know that the word TRUST can be re-configured into STRUT! And that’s how we choose happiness… by giving yourself permission to strut, to believe again, to open our heart to the possibility that whatever negativity you can dream up is False. Evidence. Appearing. Real. FEAR!… and can easily be offset by a positive internal conversation.

Simply use the mantra, “When I let go of who I am, I become who I might be” and you will find yourself trusting more, dying to the past, and STEPPING into your power, your own personal happiness!

How about we try it just for the week? And post in the comments with a fear you are working on right now and let’s see if we can replace it with your new vision, your new dream. A new you that is ready to STRUT and create your new world!!

In the meantime, remember to like, subscribe, and share to keep your ripple flowing in our community!!! Sending you peace, love and health. Be well.

  1. I fear that the return of my daughter to this area after 3 years in recovery out of state will bring relapse and my spinning out of control trying to “save” her.
I fear a repeat of the nightmare hell and see in writing this that I am living in the past, ruining the present moment.
The fear is real – Seattle

  3. So very true about Fear. My biggest fear is fear of failure. It has held me back my entire life. Thank you for the constant reminder that I am good enough

  4. Nice reminder, davidji, to aim at choosing happiness each moment we can. And then string as many of those moments together, and find we’ve created a happiness habit. (Goal, anyway ;)) Thank you. Always.

  5. I’m worrying about a silly driving error I made a few days ago and expecting all kinds of repercussions. After reading your post, I’m determined to STRUT and manifest a different outcome with your healing guided meditation.
