Life Tools: Why Meditating Every Day Matters

In this Life Tools, we are discussing Procrastination – which can be so easy to do when it comes to our meditation practice! If we don’t meditate first thing in the morning, it’s nearly impossible to not get distracted with our morning routine and preparation for our day.

Science has confirmed that what we do in the first 30 minutes of our day determines how we reflect on our day at the end of it – and if we expose ourselves to positivity in those first 30 minutes, we are 20% more likely to say we had a good day at the end of the day, no matter what happened during our day! That’s quite a large percentage if you think about it.

But how do we make sure that we meditate first thing? We need to ritualize it. Simple willpower won’t get you there. Think of the first ten things you do every morning – brushing your teeth, letting the dog out, taking a shower, etc. If we can take our meditation practice and move it to the very front of our day by either meditating in bed (Beditating), or doing RPM (Rise, Pee, Meditate!), then it becomes a part of our daily routine without much effort.

And once we get into the habit of it, before you know it, it becomes something that we can’t live without. And as we know, meditation makes everything better, so your life becomes better as a result.
