Hello, Spiritual Warrior!
The ancient Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu asked two questions that still land, thousands of years later:
Do you have the patience to wait until the mud settles and the water is clear?
Can you remain unmoving until the right action arises by itself?
Sit with that for a second.
If you’re honest, the answer is probably no – not most days.
And the reason isn’t impatience. It’s trust.
(Or rather, the absence of it.)
Here’s what I want you to consider: every single moment that has brought you to right now – every twist, every setback, every unexpected turn – has been a co-creation between you and the universe.
It’s not something happening to you. It’s something happening with you, and for you.
But we don’t always live from this wisdom. We hold onto old sadness, and carry it into moments that deserve a clean slate.
We let yesterday’s frustrations color today’s opportunity.
And then, almost on autopilot, we reach for control – as if the answer to uncertainty is simply to squeeze tighter.
What actually creates ease is trust.
So in this meditation that I’m sharing with you today, we will lean into that feeling of trust.
We will learn to practice patience until the mud settles and the water becomes clear. We will practice remaining unmoving until the next right action unfolds.
When we practice this on the meditation cushion, it makes it easier to practice in our daily lives.
I’ll see you in the gap. 🙏
