Welcome Spiritual Warrior, to this week’s edition of The Source in which we explore parts of our lives we may not have recognized as deserving of gratitude!!!

How do we cultivate an attitude of gratitude? How does it work? Every morning I begin my meditation practice with a few minutes of gratitude. It happens the moment I wake up – BEFORE I even open my eyes!! As I slowly become conscious or aware that I am no longer sleeping, I silently ask myself, “What am I grateful for?”

And this is the important part — I don’t answer. I just repeat that question over and over 50 times like a mantra. Then I sit for a minute and just fill my mind and my heart with everything I am grateful for. Experiences, opportunities, people, the miracles that unfold each day – both profound and mundane.

Then I open my eyes, RPM (rise, pee, meditate), and I have ten minutes of gratitude rippling through me before I’ve even brushed my teeth!!! Remember that where attention goes, energy flows. [tweet_dis]Whatever we place our awareness on blooms and blossoms and grows… and what we drift our awareness away from withers, diminishes and dies.[/tweet_dis]

And by placing my awareness on gratitude before I have even absorbed one ray of sunlight, gratitude becomes the trajectory of my morning, my day, and my week! Every seed I plant throughout the day is planted in the fertile soil of gratitude.

Some of the greatest heart-based teachers such as Osho, David Simon, and Pema Chodron have stressed that enlightenment cannot be achieved by meditation alone. If our heart is heavy, that heaviness will stand in the way of bliss. If our heart is heavy, then our meditation will be more of an intellectual exercise and we want to move out of our head and into our heart.

Starting our day with gratitude ensures that we move through the day with grace and ease. And that’s the space that I choose to live my life from. I am not always so graceful or so easy, but my morning gratitude practice starts me off on a sweet, forgiving, compassionate, grateful path. It’s up to me to stay on it or find my way back when I’ve strayed throughout the day.

What a magnificent journey to be on! I invite you to join me every morning as we start the day in gratitude. It doesn’t guarantee that the day will unfold perfectly or as predicted, but it does guarantee that as each moment unfurls its miracle, I am right there – only a few heartbeats away starting from a space of gratitude.

Peace. -davidji

During these five days, you will access the stillness and silence that rest within, lock down a lasting meditation practice, and release aspects of your life that no longer serve you, and awaken your power to set the intentions of your dream life. As you immerse in this insightful and inspirational workshop and commune with like-minded individuals, you will learn:

  • Tools to experience greater clarity to make decisions for your highest good
  • To tap the confidence within and find your inner voice in critical moments
  • Skills to communicate more consciously in relationship conflict
  • Time-tested practices to help you release stress and anxiety when you feel that weight on your chest.

You will leave this experience able to integrate meditation, mindfulness, conscious choice-making, and ancient wisdom into your actual contemporary life and experiences. Happy weekend, Spiritual Warrior!!! Welcome to this weekend’s meditation in which we place attention on the adage, “this too shall pass.”

Life is filled with peaks and valleys, rabbit holes, long climbs, highs and lows, crossroads and dead ends; we can use this powerful tool when we find ourselves stuck, unwilling to on, when we find ourselves ruminating, blaming, living in the past. Enjoy!!!

Mantra: This too shall pass (gam zeh ya’avor)

Hello, Spiritual Warrior, welcome to this edition of The Source in which we explore tips for distinguishing thoughts from signs from the Universe.

Coincidences are the universe tapping you on the shoulder whispering to pay attention!

As we live our lives in the material realm, coincidences are “signs from the universe” that we are actually united with realms beyond our normal understanding of existence.

These moments, although they may be flashes of a second, tell us that the local and non-local worlds are inter-connected… that the manifest and the unmanifest are actually merged into one giant universe and that we are seeing the world with more expansive eyes – that we are witnessing the bigger picture. Almost as if we are viewing the moment through some divine lens.

So often in life we have asked God, or someone who has passed on to “give us a sign.” It’s our request to have whatever exists in another dimension or a world beyond our understanding to reach through the veil that separates us and tap us on the shoulder.

When you experience a coincidence, it is the universe tapping you on the shoulder & whispering in your ear “Pay attention!” It is a moment of powerful alignment between you and something much bigger than you. It means your awareness has expanded way beyond your typical day-to-day. It is a higher state of consciousness!

When this moment happens, it should inspire us to be ever vigilant – ever more aware. There doesn’t need to be profound significance in the moment. And there is no need to torture yourself over finding a meaning.

The meaning will unfold when the time is right… so keep trusting that the universe will deliver you to exactly where you need to be. And, if you were looking for a sign from the universe in order to make a shift, or take a step… this is it!! The universe is giving you permission to move forward!!

So this week, let’s pay attention to the coincidences in our life – it’s a whole lot easier if you meditate every day. Coincidences unfold with greater frequency & ease to those who meditate & come from a place of stillness & silence.

What have you got to lose? Let’s meditate & witness the world around us with new eyes, more expansive viewpoints, with an aham brahmasmi mindset – and let the universe weave its magnificence through our lives.

In the meantime, I’ll see you in the gap!

Welcome, Spiritual Warrior, to another edition of The Source in which we explore what happens when we find ourselves at a crossroads.

It never fails. Life tosses you a curveball; throws off your mojo; lays difficult decisions at your feet.  And, we find ourselves at a crossroads feeling confused and overwhelmed about what we really want.

We don’t acknowledge that so much of what we want is already inside. All we have to do is awaken what already rests within. For the process to work, we need to come from a place of stillness and silence – which allows us to be less conditioned in our assessments, and less knee-jerk in our reactions. If we can come from this space – with greater regularity & consistency – we will make decisions LESS out of fear and desperation.

We all have experienced making a choice out of fear, poverty consciousness, desperation, or constricted less-than thinking. Rarely is the outcome what we envisioned. In fact, most likely, you will feel even more confused or overwhelmed because after the dust settles, you will not have what you really, really want.

In moments like that, we need to breathe deeply and remember the words of Lao Tzu: “[tweet_dis]Do you have the patience to wait
until your mud settles and the water is clear?[/tweet_dis]
Can you remain unmoving
until the right action arises by itself?”

If that feels right to you, then here are seven steps to help you gain clarity and make more conscious choices:

1. Meditate. Spend at least ten minutes slowing down, breathing, and relaxing your bodymind.
2. Let go of anyone else’s opinion of your choice, vision, or decision.
3. Close your eyes & place your hand on your heart as you walk yourself through each realm and envision choosing one.
4. Project yourself into the future & ask, “How does it feel now that I have made this choice?”
5. Listen to your heart. Listen to your body. Listen to the whispers of your soul.
6. Trust in the divine plan of the universe.
7. Feel yourself merge into the choice.

This conscious choice-making process can be activated in any moment – and is ALWAYS worth taking the time to first slow down and pattern interrupt from your relentless swirl of thoughts, mental activities, chatter, and confusion. So this week, let’s make a commitment to get clear on our vision – and stay focused on it … keep leaning into it … letting go what doesn’t serve us and allowing in what will nourish us.

In the meantime, I’ll see you in the GAP.  peace. -d

I will not be “famous,” “great.” I will go on adventuring, changing, opening my mind and my eyes, refusing to be stamped and stereotyped. The thing is to free one’s self: to let it find its dimensions, not be impeded. ―Virginia Woolf

Happy weekend, Spiritual Warrior!!! Welcome to a week of love — especially for ourselves!

I know all the “peace” & “love” stuff I often talk about sounds so woo-woo… BUT isn’t love where it all begins? Yet with all this other stuff in our lives, it’s easy to push our present needs for love into the background. Fear is the absence of love… and we buy into that emotion much more often than the sweet surrender of love.

When we live in a mode of fight-or-flight existence, there is little room for love. In fact, when we come from a place of fear, we ask these types of questions:

  • Am I lovable?
  • Do I need to change something about myself so people will love me?
  • Does that person love me the way I love them?

We could go on forever in this circular devolution of self-worth but when we look to our most genuine self that is whole and pure and perfect and abundant and infinite… we realize there is only love and it is ever expanding and ever available because WE ARE LOVE!

Failure is the condiment that gives success its flavor.
―Truman Capote

Welcome to another edition of The Source!!! The concept of success gets all the limelight, but exploring our lives through the concept of failure can be just as inspirational… if you look at it through a new lens.

These are a few of my favorite quotes about failure. Which one resonates most with you, and why?

Rock bottom became the solid foundation on which I rebuilt my life. ―J.K. Rowling

The phoenix must burn to emerge. ―Janet Fitch

I was never afraid of failure; for I would sooner fail than not be among the greatest. ―John Keats

I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. ―Thomas A. Edison

Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts. ―Winston S. Churchill

There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure. ―Paulo Coelho

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed. ―Theodore Roosevelt

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. ―Robert F. Kennedy

Never confuse a single defeat with a final defeat. ―F. Scott Fitzgerald

Failure is only the opportunity more intelligently to begin again. ―Henry Ford

If we will be quiet and ready enough, we shall find compensation in every disappointment. ―Henry David Thoreau

It’s not how far you fall, but how high you bounce that counts. ―Zig Ziglar

Failure is a powerful lens through which we can reflect, learn and set a new trajectory. We begin failing at lots of things very early in our lives and on a regular basis throughout our journey on this Earth: when we take our first step and fall, when we learn to ride a bike and crash, when our first romantic relationship ends, when we bomb an important test… the list goes on and on. And although many of these failures cause us pain, anguish or anxiety, we persevere… we stand back up, we get back on, we learn and then we continue on to bigger and better things.

Extraordinary people use failure as a catalyst to grow, and if you’re not failing sometimes, you might not be pushing yourself to become your best version. So this week, reflect on a recent failure… it can be giant or small… but none is insignificant!!! Ask yourself reflective questions about this failure. Here are some examples:

  • What is my most recent failure?
  • How did it affect me or others?
  • What feelings have come from this?
  • What is the most likely reason I failed?
  • What is the outcome I wanted?
  • Do I still want this outcome?
  • What are three things I’m going to do to begin again?

Now use your answers to create a new trajectory. Leave your thoughts in the comments, or email me at info@davidji.com.

Keep meditating, and I’ll see you in the gap!!! peace. -d

Happy Weekend, Spiritual Warrior!!!

Sometimes we find ourselves in a rut… stagnant… not unhappy, but not happy. Our weekend meditation focuses on what inspires us…. on the center of our passion: our manipura chakra and our anahata chakra. Each has it’s own special vibration:

Manipura vibration is ram
Anahata vibration is yum or yam

What inspires you? What sparks your passion? What holds your stars apart and your universe together? This is the time to dream BIG!!! We’re not holding back… we’re not playing small… throw caution to the wind!!!

This week, let’s focus on awakening our passion… awakening that which might have been dormant, or that which might have been struggling to break through into the light.

This is your time… this is your now… this is your moment.

Mantra: Ram yam dhri

Welcome to this week’s edition of The Source in which we explore the concept of surrender and the Sacred Power of Trust.

You are already connected to everything you could ever desire or need right now – but you must trust to receive them. What’s trust?

The breath you’re taking right now, the next thought that drifts into your awareness, your body’s constant questing for balance, the trillions of vibrations rippling through every aspect of your being, listening to the tender feelings in your heart, the sensations in your flesh, energy flowing through your mind & heart, the digestion of your physical & emotional experiences, & your ability to transform this moment into the next.

Trust is a Sacred Power; it requires no convincing. Trust is a firm belief that whatever is flowing through you, flows through everything… that you are indeed the same stardust that has rippled through the cosmos for billions of years… that you are this magnificent expression of the divine. Trust is embedded. You can’t think your way into trust… you can’t intellectualize it… trust ripens at your very core.

Trust is an invitation

In every moment that you trust, you are inviting the magnificence of the Universe into your life with unwavering confidence. And when you waver… when you lose faith in that invitation, it’s not as if you have suddenly found someone else to invite. You haven’t rested your trust in some other magnificence or some other divine principle. No.

In that moment of wavering, you question inviting anyone or anything into your life. When you stop trusting, you suddenly lose confidence in your decision. You mistakenly believe that you know better than the universe, and you begin distancing yourself from your understanding of the Divine Principle of Infinite Flow. You selectively turn your back on the laws of the universe… on everything you know to be true. It’s like suddenly being skeptical that gravity will hold you down or that electricity will work when you flick on the light.

When you stop trusting, you suspend reality, disconnect from the effortless support of the Universe and inexplicably choose to proceed with no divine support. As Dr. Wayne Dyer, is known to have said, “You let your EGO take over; you Edge God Out”.

[tweet_dis]Trust is when you are fully aligned with the Universe in thought, breath, word, and deed.[/tweet_dis] When you are in that alignment, you allow the magnificence inside of you to shine and you effortlessly step out of the way. It’s as if the Universe is guiding you… holding your hand and walking right beside you. Those are the moments of spontaneous right speech, where every word you say fits perfectly into the moment and accomplishes your short term, long term and other peoples goals simultaneously. Clarity unfolds perfectly. Sometimes we call this “being in the zone” or having a “win-win” experience. In this moment of pure present moment awareness, every intention you have, every choice you make, every action you take… fits into the situation perfectly. It feels really good AND it serves the Universe.

As long as we stay open & trusting, everything that’s meant to move through us, comes in effortlessly –nourishes us, and we let go of what doesn’t serve us. Open-ness is the key. And as long as the conduit is wide open, the whole process is effortless & fluid. But the moment we begin to put up barriers, get defensive, or question whether we should receive the flow, *BOOM*… the flow narrows or stops altogether… and the trust is broken.

This week, let’s commit ourselves to surrendering to the Sacred Power of Trust and let the Universe take the wheel.

peace. – davidji
