Welcome to this week’s edition of The Source!!

Every thing in this sweet existence of ours is energy – every word, thought, sound, view, physical sensation… our responses to the world around us, our actions and our interactions. Every text, bark, email, churchbell, whisper, gaze, breath, car engine, rainbow, All the ripples of nature -from the warmth of the sun, the blowing of the breeze, the waves in the ocean, the changing of the leaves, the light from the stars in the night sky… and it goes on and on. Everything is energy.

Each day, we wake up, and – for most of us – we see what the world has in store for us. As moments unfold, conversations take place, interactions transpire, and surprises appear, we get a sense that we are tiny specs in a giant universe – and that somehow the world happens to us. That life just comes at you in random surges. But that is an illusion. Actually, the entire universe rests inside of you and all of your experiences in this life have been subtly co-created by you – whether or not you were paying attention. Yes, the thoughts you have, the words you say, and the actions you perform have a power unto themselves and have stealthily led you to this exact moment.

Most of us are not aware of our innate ability to impact the world around us. We aren’t sure how to live each moment with deeper purpose. We have no clue of how to guide our life to higher levels of fulfillment and happiness. But the amazing truth is that for thousands of years, individuals who have understood & harnessed the power of their ripple have lived lives of deeper meaning, profound serenity, limitless abundance, and success. And, now you can too!

This week, let’s pay closer attention to the power of our ripple — starting with our thoughts, our actions and our words — and move with greater kindness and love.

Peace. -d

This week, let’s focus on a constriction in our body or in our emotions, and practice connection – clear our chakras. Let’s bring relief, connection, and the ability to heal and expand beyond pain, grief, worry, stress, anxiety.

Ayurveda teaches us to study, understand, and balance our mindbodyspirit as a whole – promoting an existence that is in tune with the natural rhythms of nature – and the oneness that rests at the core of our existence. When you apply conscious living practices like chakra awareness techniques, your self-observation and connection expands organically.

The quest of a Spiritual Warrior is for Personal Freedom. Personal Freedom means freedom from fear, illusions, and the fear based beliefs that the spiritual warrior within battles – the beliefs of the mind that are limiting, conditioned, and self-imposed. It is with Personal Freedom that we are free of the human condition of emotional suffering. MOKSHA – emotional liberation – is essentially living your life with an undercurrent of unconditional love, grace, ease, and greater appreciation and gratitude for yourself, and others. This week let’s invite the powerful teachings of Don Miguel Ruiz’ The Four Agreements into our meditation practice and take time to change the fabric of our life and shift us – in stages – to a life of greater peace, freedom, authenticity, and happiness.

  1. Be impeccable with your word.
  2. Don’t take anything personally.
  3. Don’t make assumptions.
  4. Always do you best.

Welcome Spiritual Warriors!!

I have so much gratitude for you and my life, and that because of YOU I live my dharma every day. Sometimes that comes with a busy travel, speaking and teaching schedule. So this week, I’m bringing back an oldie-but-goodie video on STEPPING INTO YOUR POWER.

[Tweet “Will you finally trust and bless your feelings, emotions, dreams & desires? davidji.com”]

Over the years, I have shared the teachings of don Miguel Ruiz – someone I consider a friend and a brilliant translator of timeless, Shamanic, transformational wisdom. His philosophies are based on the belief that we can awaken our power by practicing The Four Agreements and replacing the non-nourishing agreements we have made over the course of our life. don Miguel illuminates the path to greater happiness with insights on our early conditioning where we trained ourselves to make other people happy through a process he calls domestication.

It is during these early years that we began to make the thousands of agreements that ended up dictating our feelings and behaviors. Our parents, our caregivers, our priests, our teachers, our coaches, our bosses, our boyfriends & girlfriends, our spouses, our brothers & sisters, our leaders, our doctors…all rewarded and punished us whenever we did or didn’t do what THEY wanted us to do.

And it was from this cause and effect, stimulus-response daily conditioning that we wove the fabric of our life. Even in our first few days out of the womb, we could sense whether our behavior generated smiles or frowns, and we began to practice and reinforce what would bring us more pleasure and comfort & less pain and discomfort.

As children, we learned behaviors and habits from our peers and the adults in our life in school, in the neighborhood, at camp, in church, and at home.

The tools of reward and punishment were often emotional and sometimes physical as others’ opinions and reactions to us became a very strong force in the habits we created.

Each day, we SELF-domesticated ourselves as we created agreements in our mind of who we should and shouldn’t be, and what we should and shouldn’t do. And at a certain point that became engrained into every muscle in our body – every fiber of our being – as we lived a life and reinforced it based on others’ opinions and expectations of us.

In this process of domestication it turns out that the choices we make and the life we live is more driven by the opinions we learned from others than if we had grown up in isolation with no one around to tell us what was “acceptable” and what was not.

But if you want to be happier…you need to step into your power and take the reins of your life so you can be the writer, the main character, and the director of your life. And right now – in this moment – you get to turn the page and write the new chapter of your life.

Now is the time to take the step you’ve always feared or held off from doing because of what someone else would say. If finally…you just didn’t care what someone else (the person whose reaction you are fearing) would say, WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

Would you stand in the center of your truth and own how you really feel?

Would you finally trust and bless your feelings, emotions, dreams & desires?

I think you would. So let’s take one thing we truly dream of but feel shut down when we envision how someone else will respond – and let’s own it…and do it.

Now is the time when we can step into our most feminine side of our being…listen to our heart’s guidance (rather than our head), and take a small step in the direction of our dreams.

Write your dream on a piece of paper. Stare at it for five minutes. Close your eyes. Use that as your mantra and meditate for 30 minutes every day for a week.

Share with me your results by posting in the comments.

Let’s step into the fire of transformation together. Agni meele purohitam: I surrender to the fire of transformation. And I’ll see you in the gap!

Peace. – davidji

Hello, Spiritual Warriors, and welcome to this week’s edition of The Source.

If there’s any universal truth it’s that we can’t undo the past. It happened. Maybe it didn’t happen the way we planned. Maybe we made some poor choices affecting others, maybe someone else made poor choices affecting us.

Studying and practicing a blend of teachings – the Torah as well as the Vedas, Christ consciousness, Islam’s mystical Sufism, Osho’s Taoism, Guru Nanak’s Sikhism, the loving-kindness of Buddha’s compassionate teachings, and the universality of religious science – has helped me transcend the many traumas, struggles, and challenges that I have experienced in my life.

It has helped me to move into the present and help others find deeper fulfillment in their lives. It has taught me that I can’t undo the past … I can’t un-ring the bell … I can’t unhurt those I have wounded and they can’t unhurt me. But I can make different choices in this moment to right my past wrongs, to say now what I couldn’t or didn’t say then, to make amends for past misdeeds, to listen now to what I couldn’t hear then, to add sweetness to the lives of new people in my life in the same way I have brought pain into the lives of those in my past, to bring closure to the past in my heart and in my mind even when I am unable to do it in this physical world, and to take responsibility for my feelings, my interpretations, and my dreams.

This week, begin your daily meditation by asking yourself these powerful and profound questions:

  • Who am I?
  • What do I want? and
  • What can I release that no longer serves me?

Meditation has helped me find the answers to these questions, and open my heart wider than ever before, cleansing it, purifying it of that blackness . . . lightening the load . . . a little less pain and a little more clarity. As I have peeled away the conditioned layers of my life, new thoughts have emerged, expanded aspects of my self have awakened, and I have connected to my soul. I have cried. I have laughed. I have tapped into the collective. I have experienced the infinite one-ness of the universe, and fallen in love again—with myself, with everyone, with life.

[Tweet “Meditation will help awaken you to long-hidden forgiveness. davidji.com”]

Now, the blackness is gone. And it can be this way for you, too. This week, reconnect with your heart, which may have been closed for many years. Meditation will help awaken you to long-hidden forgiveness and help you make long-overdue amends with some of the deepest wounds of your past – things you’ve done and not done that you’ve regretted, ways of thinking and living that has not served others, relationships that have gone under-nourished or become painful, paths you’ve walked that had turned into dark rabbit holes, and sweet people with tender hearts along the way whom you may have hurt.

This week, explore your most important relationship – the one you have with your true Self – the stillness and silence that rests within your soul . . . the core of your being . . . your essence . . . your pure unbounded consciousness. You will start to find surrender, and embrace detachment, forgiveness and making peace with your past.

Peace. -d

Mantra: Sat chit ananda

All that we are arises from our thoughts, with our thoughts we create the world. Meditation is that key.

Each of us is holding onto something from our past that keeps us awake at night, and is standing in the way of deeper fulfillment or peace of mind. Healing is when we allow the universe’s natural process to gracefully unfold within us. There are 6 steps towards healing and making peace with the past. You can read about them here.

This weekend, let’s begin the gentle process of healing the past by letting go of what no longer serves us.

Hello Spiritual Warriors! And welcome to another week of Life Tools where we explore overcoming regret.

Regret, grief, shame, guilt or sadness … we all have these feelings at some point in our life. For some, they last longer, plaguing our hearts and minds with “what could or should have been.” Maybe we broke a promise, made a bad or non-nourishing choice, lied or cheated, betrayed a partner or friend. Maybe we said something that was mean, or we didn’t speaking up when we should have.

[Tweet “The process of healing will begin the second we give ourselves permission to forgive. davidji.com”]

The list of universal transgressions that we all share is limitless. The resentment we may have for another person can turn us outwardly bitter – and the anger we hold in our own heart – for ourselves – can inwardly damage us even more as it festers and overwhelms us. We can be the hardest on ourselves. These toxic, destructive emotions only lead to cynicism, reactivity, and depression.

healing immersionOvercoming regret is not easy, but it is possible!! The process of healing will begin the second we give ourselves permission to forgive. Some of our wounds may still be raw years after the transgressions took place, and they will only burrow deeper into our mind, heart, and ultimately our body if we don’t do something to take us beyond them.

When we forgive, we free ourselves from the ties that bind us to the one that hurt us. And this might just be the opportunity to forgive yourself. There are a few easy steps to begin the process.

  1. Make a list of the life-lessons you’ve learned from the experience that is causing your regret.
  2. Ask yourself, “Knowing what I now know, would I have acted differently?” “If confronted with the exact same circumstance, would I make a more conscious choice?” If the answer is that you would now choose more wisely… with greater understanding of the consequences, then you have made a powerful breakthrough.
Saying to yourself, “I am a bad person” — is toxic and disempowering. It’s devolutionary. The fact that you would now choose differently means you are NOT a bad person – but someone who chose poorly in a given moment – just as we all have.
  3. Give yourself permission to acknowledge your less conscious choice AND make a personal commitment to making more conscious ones going forward.

Imagine yourself behaving in a wiser and more thoughtful way. Define yourself as someone who makes more thoughtful choices. And take a step to transmute the hurt you’ve caused – make amends, tell someone else about your shift, write it down, make a donation to a cause that serves someone else, and have compassion on yourself.

This will begin the process of forgiving your tender heart. Keep moving forward in the direction of your healing. Keep making amends. Keep redefining yourself. Every day wake up and forgive yourself just a little bit more. Start to live the transformation. And as the days flow on, you will begin to breathe a little bit easier. Remember to meditate every day. This will help your journey of evolution to your best version.

Self-forgiveness is an ongoing process, not an overnight solution. Be gentle with yourself and remember your humanity… your self-compassion. And most importantly, remember that we are all one! Aham brahmasmi baby! I AM the universe. In the meantime, I’ll see you in the gap!

Peace. –davidji
