Mantra: Yogastha Kuru Karmani

Happy weekend spiritual warriors!
Are you ready to forgive? Let’s free ourselves from the ties that bind us.

Each of us has something in our life that is a source of regret, grief, shame, guilt or sadness; something we’ve said or done that haunts us, distracts us, or weighs on our heart. Breaking a promise, making a bad or non-nourishing choice, lying and getting caught, cheating on a partner, saying something that was mean, not speaking up when you could have; the list is limitless. These toxic, destructive emotions can lead to cynicism, reactivity, and depression. But we can begin the process of healing whenever we are ready to give ourselves permission to forgive.

“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.” –Dalai Lama

Hello Spiritual Warriors! And welcome to another week of life tools. In this week’s edition of The Source we’ll address forgiveness.

Each of us has something in our life that is a source of regret, grief, shame, guilt or sadness… something we’ve said or done that haunts us, distracts us, and weighs on our heart. Breaking a promise, making a bad or non-nourishing choice, lying and getting caught, cheating on a partner, saying something that was mean, not speaking up when you could have… The list of universal transgressions that we all share is limitless. And just as the resentment we may have for another person can turn us outwardly bitter – the anger we hold in our own heart – for ourselves – can inwardly damage us even more as it festers and overwhelms us. These toxic, destructive emotions can lead to cynicism, reactivity, and depression.

But we can begin the process of healing whenever we are ready to give ourselves permission to forgive.

Some of our wounds may still be fresh years after our “infraction” took place and they will only dig deeper into our mind, heart, and ultimately our body if we don’t do something to take us beyond them.

When we forgive, we free ourselves from the ties that bind us to the one that hurt us. And this might just be the opportunity to forgive yourself. There are a few easy steps to begin the process.

First, ask yourself, “Have I learned anything from this experience?” Make a list of the life-lessons you’ve learned.

Next, ask yourself, “Knowing what I now know, would I have acted differently?” “If confronted with the exact same circumstance, would I make a more conscious choice?” If the answer is that you would now choose more wisely… with greater understanding of the consequences, then you have made a powerful breakthrough.

Saying to yourself, “I am a bad person” — is toxic and disempowering. It’s devolutionary. The fact that you would now choose differently means you are NOT a bad person – but someone who chose poorly in a given moment – just as we all have.

The final step is to give yourself permission to acknowledge your less conscious choice AND make a personal commitment to making more conscious ones going forward

Imagine yourself behaving in a wiser and more thoughtful way. Define yourself as someone who makes more thoughtful choices. And take a step to transmute the hurt you’ve caused – make amends, tell someone else about your shift, write it down, make a donation to a cause that serves someone else, and have compassion on yourself. This will begin the process of forgiving your tender heart.

Keep moving forward in the direction of your healing. Keep making amends. Keep redefining yourself. Every day wake up and forgive yourself just a little bit more. Start to live the transformation. And as the days flow on, you will begin to breathe a little bit easier. Remember to meditate every day. This will help your journey of evolution to your best version.

Self-forgiveness is an ongoing process, not an overnight solution. Be gentle with yourself and remember your humanity… your self-compassion. And most importantly, remember that we are all one! Aham brahmasmi baby! I AM the universe. In the meantime, I’ll see you in the gap! Peace. –davidji

“If we like only the best things in the person, that is not love. We have to accept his weaknesses and bring our patience, understanding, and energy to help him transform. .” –Thích Nhất Hạnh

Hello Spiritual Warriors! And welcome to another edition of The Source. This week in our video and in this blog, we celebrate love & lovingkindness. One of the most insightful conversations on love was shared by the brilliant Vietnamese Buddhist teacher Thích Nhất Hạnh in his 2011 book True Love: A Practice for Awakening the Heart. In addition to his many books and articles, Thay – as he is known by his students – can be seen on hundreds of YouTube videos. We study this beautiful Zen master in my Masters of Wisdom & Meditation Teacher Training – specifically his book The Heart of the Buddha’s Teaching. We can learn so much from Thay’s heartfelt and tender teachings.

Here’s a small excerpt on love:

We have to restore the meaning of the word “love.” We have been using it in a careless way. When we say, “I love hamburgers,” we are not talking about love. We are talking about our appetite, our desire for hamburgers. We should not dramatize our speech and misuse words like that. We make words like “love” sick that way. We have to make an effort to heal our language by using words carefully. The word “love” is a beautiful word. We have to restore its meaning. Love is deep, beautiful, and whole.

True love contains respect. In my tradition, husband and wife are expected to respect each other like guests, and when you practice this kind of respect, your love and happiness will continue for a long time. In sexual relationships, respect is one of the most important elements. Sexual communion should be like a rite, a ritual performed in mindfulness with great respect, care, and love. If you are motivated by some desire, that is not love. Desire is not love. Love is something much more responsible. It has care in it.

If the word “love” is understood in the deepest way, why do we need to say “long-term commitment”? If love is real, we do not need long or short-term commitments, or even a wedding ceremony. True love includes the sense of responsibility, accepting the other person as he is, with all his strengths and weaknesses. If we like only the best things in the person, that is not love. We have to accept his weaknesses and bring our patience, understanding, and energy to help him transform. Love is maitri, the capacity to bring joy and happiness, and karuna, the capacity to transform pain and suffering. This kind of love can only be good for people. It cannot be described as negative or destructive. It is safe. It guarantees everything.

This week, let’s flow some sweet metta (as we do in this week’s video), maître, or karuna to those in our life this week. And don’t forget to join me Thursday on Hay House Radio where we’ll explore A Course in Miracles. In the meantime, keep meditating and I’ll see you in the gap!
Peace. –davidji

Energy
“Everything we do is infused with the energy with which we do it. If we’re frantic, life will be frantic. If we’re peaceful, life will be peaceful.”
–Marianne Williamson

Hello Spiritual Warriors and welcome to a week of vibrational transformation and my new frequency meditation video!

Everything in life is energy. We refer to this life force in Sanskrit as prana. Take a deep breath in – that’s prana surging through you. Gaze at something – that’s prana coming into your eyes and being translated into a visual. Close your eyes and listen… whatever you hear is the sound of energy vibrating your eardrums and then being interpreted by your brain into a sound. Everything is energy!!

All the energy on the planet already exists. It can be transformed, transmuted, or morphed into another form of energy; but energy cannot be created nor can it be destroyed.

Let that settle in for a moment… Energy cannot be created nor can it be destroyed. It is the life force that exists in every moment flowing… circulating…evolving… transforming… into some other form of energy.

As you think, the electrical energy in your brain is moving around just like the energy in your computer, your device, or your phone. There is no airplane mode for your brain – although we can get pretty close when we meditate or connect to the present moment.

The food we eat, which contains stored energy translates into our body as calories which then becomes part of our body’s stored energy, and then translates into activity (kinetic energy) or becomes part of our physiology – fat, muscle, tissues, blood vessels, lung expansions and contractions, cellular development, and heart beats.

As we move our body that creates an energetic ripple of its own. When we speak, our thoughts are translated into vocal electrical energy which then moves through the air and lands on someone else’s ears creating an energetic ripple through them.

When our words are tender, gentle, and loving – then nourishing energy is the end result. When our words are harsh, mean-spirited, or malicious – then non-nourishing energy is transmitted and received.

We have the ability to circulate whatever energy we desire – and when we are calm, relaxed, aware, and unconditioned – then that is our energetic expression. Meditation, conscious communication, forgiveness, (self) compassion, and empathy are important tools to help us flow the best energy that comes into us. Let’s make the commitment this week to be a conduit of love and transform whatever energy we receive into loving energy. Remember the power of your ripple. In the meantime, enjoy this frequency meditation video, and join me this week on Hay House Radio, where my guest will be the amazing Barbara DeAngelis and we’ll go deep on Transformational Vibration!!! In the meantime, I’ll see you in the gap! Aham brahmasmi baby! peace. -davidji

Mantra: Om Dharma Namah

Dharma is the principle that elevates, stabilizes, and sustains the order of the universe. If you can align yourself more closely with the universe, it can aide you in your journey to discovering your dharma. Today’s meditation will help you awaken greater clarity in unfolding your unique gifts and special talents. Then spend the rest of the weekend asking yourself, “How can I help?” “How can I heal?” “How can I serve others using my unique gifts and my special talents?”
Peace.–davidji

“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” –Steve Jobs

Hello Spiritual Warriors! It’s a brand new year, which gives us an opportunity to use this moment to set a new, vibrant, fresh trajectory as we flow into 2015.

Let’s start off with a new Set Your Course 2015 meditation video and a new mantra for the New Year: what I seek I already am.

Let’s believe it. Let’s live it. Let’s own it. The answer to every question you could ever ask rests within. You simply need to quiet yourself down enough to you can hear the whispers of your heart.

And that can sometimes be tricky considering that we live in a wild, ever-changing world and show up to most challenges with conditioned responses. The first step in setting your course is to connect to the stillness & silence that rests within by connecting to the present moment. Here are four easy paths to the present moment. When you:

1. Notice the speed of life accelerating – that’s your chance to slow down;
2. Are overtaken by the noise of the moment – that’s your chance to merge into silence;
3. Feel overwhelmed & distracted – that’s your chance to pay attention; and
4. Sense all the activity rushing around you – that’s your chance to be still

If you have a daily meditation practice, watch my meditation videos or listen to my weekend guided meditations, then you are cultivating your ability to transcend stress through these rituals. Be patient and stay the course. Start listening to your inner voice.

If you are new to the practice or have struggled with locking in your daily practice, then seriously read Secrets of Meditation and sign up to be a member of the davidji meditation community where you have access 24/7 to powerful tools, tips, and techniques.

Join me this week on Hay House Radio and we will explore all the steps to Set Your Course for 2015 and take your life to the next level.

And if you have been thinking about joining me for a few days, consider these workshops:
March’s Discovering Your Dharma
June’s Awakening Your Inner Healer
September’s destressifying your life, or
October’s Secrets of Meditation & Ayurveda

And if you’d like to live the teachings with me in 2015, register for the
The Masters of Wisdom & Meditation Teacher Training – we start our online journey on June 15th and meet in person in October in the SweetSpot of the Universe.

In the meantime, I’ll see you in the gap! Peace. -davidji
